The automotive industry runs on bent tube. Exhaust systems, fuel and brake lines, roll cages, seat frames, chassis components, hydraulic and pneumatic lines — almost every vehicle is full of precisely bent tube. From a Tier-2 exhaust shop to a large automotive parts plant, DuralBend has a bending machine that fits the tolerance and the volume automotive production demands.
Why Automotive Bending Is Unforgiving
Automotive parts leave no margin. A bend that is two degrees out will not sit in the welding fixture downstream. Wall thickness is often thin to save weight, so without proper mandrel support the tube wrinkles or collapses on the inside of the bend. And volumes are high, so the machine has to repeat the same complex multi-plane part thousands of times without drifting. That combination — mandrel bending, full servo control on the geometry-defining axes, and tolerance held over long runs — is what separates a machine that can supply an OEM contract from one that cannot.
Recommended Machines
EOS Full Electric CNCFor small-diameter fuel and brake lines up to Ø60 mm — every axis on servo, no hydraulics, ideal for thin-wall, tight-tolerance fluid circuits.
Atlas BRF AutomaticFor high-volume lines running the same part in the tens of thousands — feeding, rotation and bending hands-free, so cycle time drives the cost down.
Atlas BR Semi-AutoFor series parts with consistent geometry — servo rotation for repeatable 3D bends at a lower investment than full CNC.
End Forming and Chamfering
A bent automotive tube usually needs more than the bend. Exhaust, fuel and brake tube ends often need reducing, expanding, flaring or beading to mate with the next component — the Vulcan End Forming handles all of these, configured with the right number of stations for the part. Cut ends need chamfering before welding or assembly, which the Bora chamfering machines deliver cleanly on both ends in one cycle.
Built for High-Volume, Tight-Tolerance Work
DuralBend machines handle every automotive tube material — aluminised and stainless exhaust steel, mild steel for structural parts, aluminium for lightweight components, copper and steel for fluid lines — with tooling configured for the exact material and wall thickness. Whether you are setting up a new exhaust line, expanding for an OEM contract, or moving up to CNC bending, send us your part drawing or a sample and we will recommend the configuration.
