Not every job needs a full CNC setup. A lot of pipe bending work — especially in industrial fabrication, exhaust manufacturing, furniture production and shipyards — can be done perfectly well on a hydraulic pipe bender without spending CNC money. That’s exactly where the DuralBend Atlas B series sits. These are NC controlled, fully hydraulic tube bending machines built for workshops and factories that need reliable mandrel bending at a price point that actually makes sense.
We’ve been selling hydraulic pipe benders for years and the feedback is always the same — they just work. Day in, day out, no drama. Which is exactly what you want from a hydraulic pipe bending machine on a busy production floor.
What You Get
Every machine in the Atlas B range comes with NC control, a PLC/HMI interface and a touchscreen panel with multi-language support. You can store up to 999 programs in memory and run up to 14 bends per program, which is more than enough for most applications. The control system lets you enter bend angles directly and choose between automatic or manual mode depending on what you’re doing.
The bending itself is all hydraulic — clamp die, pressure die, mandrel extraction, everything runs on hydraulic power. DDT direct gear transmission on the bending axis gives you smooth, consistent bends. There’s a wiper die block included as standard, which is important if you’re working with thin wall tubes, because without it you’ll get wrinkles on the inside of the bend. It’s one of those things that seems optional until you actually need it.
Other things worth mentioning: sequentially adjustable flip stops for repeatable tube positioning, foot pedal control for hands-free operation, error messages that actually tell you what’s wrong instead of just flashing a code, and energy saving mode. The tooling is quick-change too, which honestly should be standard on every hydraulic mandrel tube bender at this point but surprisingly isn’t. The full list is in the Standard Features tab below.
The Atlas B Range — 11 Models, Ø32 mm to Ø170 mm
Eleven models, covering tube diameters from Ø32 mm all the way up to Ø170 mm. All of them bend up to 190° with mandrel, wiper die and pressure die as standard. Here’s the lineup:
- Atlas B-32 — Ø32 mm x 2 mm, 5.2 kW, bending speed 78°/sec. The smallest in the range, good for furniture tubing, hydraulic line bender work and light industrial fabrication.
- Atlas B-42 — Ø42 mm x 2.5 mm. Step up from the 32 when you need a bit more diameter but are still working with relatively light tubes. Popular with handrail and automotive shops.
- Atlas B-51 — Ø51 mm x 3 mm, 9.5 kW, 42°/sec. Probably our most popular hydraulic tube and pipe bender. Handles most standard industrial pipe bending jobs without any issues.
- Atlas B-60 — Ø60 mm x 3 mm, 11.5 kW, 42°/sec. Same speed as the 51 but handles larger diameter. Good for hydraulic exhaust pipe bender applications and medium structural work.
- Atlas B-76 — Ø76 mm x 4 mm, 22.5 kW, 42°/sec. This is where you get into heavy duty hydraulic pipe bender territory. Serious wall thickness, serious power. Industrial exhaust systems, hydraulic steel pipe bender work, handrails.
- Atlas B-90 — Ø90 mm x 4 mm, 29.5 kW, 21°/sec. Slower bending speed because of the forces involved, but if you’re bending 90 mm pipe in a heavy industrial setting this is the machine for it.
- Atlas B-100 — Ø100 mm capacity. Big-diameter hydraulic pipe bending machine for structural work, shipyards and process piping where you can’t compromise on wall thickness.
- Atlas B-114 — Ø114 mm capacity. Common spec for industrial scaffolding, large exhaust systems and structural steel applications.
- Atlas B-130 — Ø130 mm capacity. Heavy industrial hydraulic bender for shipyards, oil & gas piping and large structural fabrication.
- Atlas B-150 — Ø150 mm capacity. Serious heavy duty hydraulic pipe bender for big-diameter structural and process piping work.
- Atlas B-170 — Ø170 mm capacity. The largest in the Atlas B range. Built for the biggest jobs — heavy structural, large diameter process pipe, infrastructure projects.
Who Are These Machines For?
Any workshop that’s doing mandrel tube bending and doesn’t need the complexity of a full CNC system. If you’re bending the same parts repeatedly with maybe 5–10 different programs, a hydraulic pipe bending machine gives you everything you need at a fraction of the cost. We see these a lot in exhaust manufacturing, furniture factories, agricultural equipment shops, HVAC fabrication, shipyards and scaffolding production — basically anywhere that needs an industrial grade pipe bender without the CNC price tag.
The mandrel capability is the key differentiator here. A lot of cheaper hydraulic machines on the market don’t include mandrel support, which means you’re limited to thicker wall tubes and larger radii. The Atlas B series handles thin wall bending properly with mandrel, wiper die and pressure die as standard. Hydraulic exhaust pipe bending, for example, requires a mandrel to get clean bends without collapsing the tube, and these machines handle it without trouble. The same goes for copper pipe and square tube work — the right tooling does the job.
If you need bends in more than one plane, the Atlas BR semi-automatic range adds a servo rotation axis, and the Atlas BRF runs the whole cycle automatically. If you decide later that you need full CNC, we have the CNC range as well. But for most industrial pipe bending applications the Atlas B series is more than enough machine.
